Don Bosco takes Compilation Poll Title

Who’s No. 1 in high school football?

Depends on whom you ask.

The growth of the game has the led to an explosion of rankings around the country. With that in mind, we thought we would combine all of them and create one big compilation rankings, sort of a high school version of the BCS.

Here’s how we did it:

1. Which rankings? We picked seven human rankings (RivalsHigh plus CNNSI, ESPN, MaxPreps, PrepNation, Scout and USAToday) plus two computer rankings (Freeman and Massey).

2. How many teams? Since rankings varied from 25 to 100 selections, we only took the Top 25 teams in each ranking.

3. How to total the compilation? This was easy. The No. 1 team in each poll got 25 points, with each descending team getting one fewer point (No. 2 got 24 points down to No. 25 received 1 point. No points were awarded for any school ranked below No. 25 by any organization.

* - indicates a tie in points; broken by raw number of polls which votes were received.
