A big, well-built offensive tackle, Tepper displays impressive flexibility and lower body strength for the position. But he isn't the most gifted athlete and lacks ideal footwork initially off the snap. Although at times he allows his feet and base to get too narrow, Tepper exhibits the balance and overall length to extend his arms and reach the corner. Is an above-average athlete for his size. He showcases impressive range in pass protection and does a nice job keeping his base down and anchoring on contact. Possesses heavy hands, a strong punch and can engulf on contact. Does a nice job sticking to blocks and moves his feet well through the play. As a run blocker, he struggles when he's asked to get out and move. But he does a nice job sticking to defenders on slide-down blocks and is tough to disengage from on the edge. Lacks the required athleticism to consistently get around and seal on reach blocks, although he does a nice job keeping his base under him and generating a good initial pop on contact. Creates good movement off the ball initially as an in-line guy and is very effective in a phone booth. Tepper can drive defenders off the football, but he has a tendency to fall off blocks the farther down the field he's asked to go. As a sixth-year senior, he's battled through adversity and isn't a guy I'd want to bet against. Lacks the type of athleticism needed to handle the left side, but I think he has a shot to mature into a potential starting right tackle.
