Rollison looking to improve options

If he can improve his academic standing, Tyrik Rollison will have more than a few college options.

The dual-threat quarterback combined for 517 yards and seven touchdowns in the Class 4A Division II state championship game last week, helping Sulphur Springs (Texas) High win the title.

Now, Rollison is in San Antonio preparing to play in the US Army All-American Bowl.

"The fact we won the state championship still hasn't hit me yet," the four-star dual-threat quarterback said. "And now I'm here ready to play with the best against the best; nothing better than that."

Rollison recently found out that he scored 15 on the ACT. He plans to schedule a retake when he gets back home and hopes he can do enough to be a full qualifier. Then he expects all of his options to expand, especially with Oklahoma State.

"I have my first official visit lined up with Oklahoma State for the 16th [of January]," Rollison said. "I really like them. That's the school I want to commit [to]. But I am not ready to commit right now. So I am wide open to anybody. But that is one of my favorite schools."

The Cowboys have yet to extend a scholarship offer.

"Whenever I get my test score up, Oklahoma State said they are going to offer me," Rollison said.

Kansas State, Colorado State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Alabama, Baylor and Kansas have also shown some form of recruiting interest in Rollison.

"I am trying to set up a visit with Colorado State, but I'm not sure when I'll take that yet," he added. "Kansas State is also one of my top schools. At one point they stopped recruiting me, but the last couple months they have been recruiting me hard, so it's nice to know they are back."

Rivals.com ranks Rollison as the nation's second best dual-threat quarterback recruit this cycle.
