Ducks add JC receiver late

Ellis Krout expected to transfer to Oregon in the fall from Gavilan (CA) College.

EUGENE - The University of Oregon announced the signing of junior college wide receiver Ellis Krout to a football letter of intent after receiving it Thursday, according to the Ducks' head coach Mike Bellotti.

The 6-4, 190-pound Dallas, Texas standout is expected to join the Ducks in the fall after catching 62 passes for 930 yards and 13 touchdowns during the 2007 season at Gavilan College in Gilroy, Calif.

After beginning his collegiate career at Fresno City College in 2005, he grabbed 73 passes for 1,300 yards and 17 scores his freshman year at Gavilan College in 2006. He will have two years to complete his final two years of eligibility.

Krout's addition brings the number of Oregon's wide receiver signees to four (and fifth JC recruit), as well as the Ducks' fifth addition from the state of Texas.
