Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), a leading global Internet company, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Rivals.com, a leading online destination for college and high school sports and recruiting information. The acquisition will significantly expand the editorial and community offerings of the Internet's No. 1 sports destination, Yahoo! Sports.
More than 16,000 Kentucky fans (16,011 to be exact) were logged on to "Rupp Rafters" a message board for Kentucky sports fans who were awaiting news of and discussing the ramifications of the team's basketball coaching search. It marked the largest number of fans ever registered online on a single message board of the company.

Company begins providing content to SI.com, the online sports property of Sports Illustrated. Company now provides content to five web sports properties, including USAToday.com, Yahoo! Sports, AOL Sports and SportingNews.com, along with SI.com. Company also provides content to a host of news-oriented sites, ranging from MSNBC.com to DallasNews.com.

Company begins selling subscriptions to Text Alerts for fans' favorite college teams. A typical fan receives between 25-40 Text Alerts per month on their favorite team. In conjunction with Text Alerts, Company also launches new look and feel to its WAP site: http://wireless.rivals.com. It is the top sports WAP site which merges information and content with community interaction.
