Arkansas released its 2005 post-spring depth chart on Wednesday, and there were a few surprises.
The chart lists a solo No. 1 at quarterback, a few surprise position switches, a few flip flops from right to left sides and several 2005 signees who are expected to make an impact next season.
Among the surprises are De'Arrius Howard's positioning as the No. 1 running back depth chart, despite not taking any contact because of a shoulder injury; Shedrick Johnson's apparent move to flanker from cornerback; Jonathan Luigs' move from guard to backup center; Mason Templeton's move to No. 1 at tight end; Marcus Harrison and Ernest Mitchell's flip-flop from the right to left tackle spots; Anthony Brown's move from backup split end to the No. 1 right defensive end; Weston Dacus' spot as the No. 1 middle linebacker; Desmond Williams' move from linebacker to strong safety; the projection of incoming freshman De'Andre Bryant at linebacker instead of at safety, and there are several more.
