Linebacker Tevon Coney was the camp's top performer at his position.
MIAMI -- The Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour concluded its two-city stop in Florida by hosting a camp at Gulliver Prep, the alma mater of former Miami defensive back Sean Taylor. Over 220 athletes attended on a warm day in South Florida, and the competition was at an elite level all afternoon.
The lone five-star athlete in attendance was wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who has drawn heavy interest from Miami, Florida State and Alabama, among others. Ridley had a strong day, as expected, and earned an invitation to the Rivals Five-Star Challenge, as did fellow wide receiver Da'Vante Phillips. The Class of 2016 was well represented at the position with Danrell Salomon, Dionte Mullins, Brandon Johnson and Dredrick Snelson all showing out well.
But it was tight end Devonaire Clarington who won the WR/TE MVP award after a very strong afternoon against an array of talented defensive backs.
Speaking of the defensive backs, it was Florida State commit Tyrek Cole who was named MVP after a fierce battle all afternoon. Cole will also be traveling to Baltimore in June for the Rivals Five-Star Challenge.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson has continued his strong play of late, earning MVP honors. Jackson has seen his offer list grow recently, and it was easy to see why on Saturday.
The Rivals Camp Series will return to the Southeast next weekend, with stops in talent-rich Atlanta on Saturday and Charlotte on Sunday. Stay tuned all week to Rivals.com as we release highlights and evaluations from our two-city stop in Florida.
At each camp, our team of football recruiting experts invites elite players to participate in the 2014 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour. The event will be held June 6-8 at M&T Stadium in Baltimore, MD.
