COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Buckeyes have had time to break down game tape of the Gaels of Iona and now have a little better of an idea of what to expect from their first opponent of the NCAA Tournament (for our premium breakdown of the Gaels, click here to see what the MAAC Champions are all about).
Aaron Craft is fresh off of being named the top performer of the recent Big Ten Tournament and the Buckeyes are riding one of the nation's top win steaks and appear to be playing their best 'team' basketball of the season. There are concerns about Deshaun Thomas' shot not going down and the Buckeyes know that one bad day could be the margin between advancing and going home.

After playing 21 games in the Big Ten the thoughts are that the Buckeyes will be in for a new style with Iona being one of the nation's top scoring teams but Ohio State head coach Thad Matta was quick to point out on Wednesday that there are teams in the Big Ten that like to put points on the board and not everyone has the same 'grind it out' methodology of the likes of Wisconsin and Northwestern.
On Wednesday morning a pair of Buckeye players and the head coach spent time with the media to talk about the upcoming journey and where the team stands now after a couple of days of practice and without games (after playing three games in three days in Chicago). We have the entire press conference here in this free update and will be in Dayton on Thursday for the Buckeye open locker room and get our first chance to talk with Iona about the challenges that Ohio State will pose for it.
