Handle the road
1

Tonight will mark Nebraska's first road game of the season and of the head coach Tim Miles era, and there won't be anything easy about going into Winston-Salem to try and get a win. The Huskers have been able to feed off their home-court advantage in the early goings of non-conference play for a 4-1 start, but this will be a completely different animal from what they've seen so far. Only Brandon Ubel and Dylan Talley have significant experience playing in hostile road environments, so NU's young roster will be put to the test in a big way.
Play defense
2

In Nebraska's first loss of the season to Kent State on Saturday night, there wasn't a more glaring issue for the Huskers than their inability to slow down the Golden Flashes at all defensively. That was the first time NU's defensive breakdowns were exposed to that degree this season, and with the competition about to step up in a big way, it will be crucial for the team to better contest shots and cut off drives to the basket. With two All-ACC caliber players, Wake Forest is the kind of team that can make it a very long night for the Huskers if they don't.
Find some depth
3

Outside of sophomore guard David Rivers, Nebraska hasn't had anyone come off the bench and provide any sort of consistent production through the first five games. The Huskers have been able to compensate with solid play from their starting five thus far, but there's absolutely no way they can expect to win going forward with just six guys making an impact. The status of freshman guard Shavon Shields could be a major concern in that regard, as his status remains questionable as he continues to deal with an infected shooting elbow.

Head coach Tim Miles on his concerns about his team right now:

"At this point I've got a lot of concerns… I question our mental readiness and I have to put that on me. I actually thought that we had practiced alright. Shavon kind of came as a late scratch but even that doesn't matter. I thought we practiced alright and I thought that we would be ready to go. Sometimes when you're in a break, and the guys don't have any kind of routine, then they don't handle it very well."
Senior guard Dylan Talley on if Nebraska is ready for its first road game:

"We are ready for a road game. It is all mental, it is all mental, if we come prepared we can compete, and if we come prepared and compete for 40 minutes I think we will be okay."

Wake Forest 63-54
