First Look Notebook

Each Monday afternoon, Gary Pinkel and Missouri players will meet with the media beginning at 3:30 p.m. But prior to that, the Tigers release their game notes for the week and a few questions are cleared up.

Each Monday, PowerMizzou.com will get Tiger fans up to speed with our First Look Notebook. Here are the things all Tiger fans need to know headed into game week against Southeast Louisiana.

*Mizzou released its official game-week depth chart on Monday. Projected starters Kip Edwards, Braylon Webb and Jack Meiners are not on the two-deep due to injury.

Webb had surgery on his meniscus 11 days ago. The initial prognosis was that he would miss seven to ten days. We will get more information at media day. Edwards has been out for a couple of weeks with a knee injury and had said during fall camp he was hopeful he would return for the opener, but unsure.

Meiners went down with a knee injury in Mizzou's final camp scrimmage last Thursday. There has been no official word on his injury, though the optimistic indication has been that he will miss the opener but could return for the Tigers' game against Georgia on September 8th. Again, more information will come from Pinkel this afternoon.

*Four freshmen are listed on the two-deep and, thus, headed for playing time. All are on the offensive side of the ball. Evan Boehm will start at left guard with Max Copeland getting the nod at right guard with Meiners out. Dorial Green-Beckham is listed second at the Y-receiver position where Sean Culkin is third. Tailback Russell Hansbrough is also listed third on the depth chart. No other first-year players appear on the depth as of Monday.

*Missouri no longer is listing a tight end on the depth chart. The Y position has previously been designated as tight end, but is now simply a fourth receiver spot.

*There are two spots where a competition looks to be continuing this week. Trey Barrow and Andrew Baggett are listed as "even" at placekicker. Barrow may have had the edge going into the final scrimmage, but both kickers made just 3-of-7 attempts in the final scrimmage.

At longsnapper on PATs and field goals, walk-ons Mitch Hall and Jake Hurrell are listed as even. Brad Madison will be the snapper on punts, but one of those two players will handle the snaps on place kicks.

*T.J. Moe will be active on special teams in addition to offense. Moe will handle the holding duties on kicks and is also listed ahead of Marcus Murphy as the Tigers' kickoff return man. At punt returner, Murphy is listed ahead of E.J. Gaines, though Moe indicated earlier in camp that all three could get action depending on the game situation.

*Saturday's game will be broadcast on a pay-per-view basis. We should have detailed information on availability later today.
