We continue the hot month of July with this look at the players who make up the FlaVarsity.com Pre-season 160.
5-foot-11 | 175 | Madison
Buzz: Williams is the key to the Cowboy offense and took Madison Co. to the state championship after an injury to the starting QB. Look for more of the same, as he'll be the featured back this year.
Schools in the mix: Florida State, South Carolina, South Florida, Louisville, Arkansas
6-foot-6 | 228 |Everglades
Buzz: At weakside defensive end, Bell uses his height in passing lanes and his speed to cover the corners. He's timed at 4.88 seconds - not bad for his 6-foot-6 frame. Can play hand up or hand down.
5-foot-9 | 146 | Plantation
Buzz: At 5-foot-9, Shelton will need to put on a little weight to make the jump to Florida State's secondary next year, but he's got the talent and gift of great feet and hip-work. Rarely gets turned around in pass coverage.
6-foot-3 | 188 | Miami Southridge
Buzz: Robbins has the speed and the size to compete with the big receivers. At cornerback, and in Dade County - he's getting tested every game - and passing with flying colors. Mark this one - he's moving up.
Schools in the mix: Memphis, South Carolina, Western Kentucky, Auburn, UCLA
5-foot-9 | 165 | Pasco
Buzz: As a junior, Grant caught 48 passes for 960 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also scored five rushing touchdowns to go along with four special teams touchdowns and a defensive touchdown.
Schools in the mix: Florida State, Iowa State, UCONN, Central Florida, Middle Tennessee
5-foot-10 | 175 | Godby
Buzz: Thomas is an athlete on both sides of the ball. He can score both offensively and defensively and often doesn't leave the field. Great potential in the next level.
Schools in the mix: Alabama, Ohio State, Miami, South Carolina, Oregon
6-foot-2 | 180 | Champagnat Catholic
Buzz: Williams is an athlete and plays QB for the Lions. Look for him to move to wide receiver or safety to take advantage of his speed and good hands.
Schools in the mix: Ole Miss, West Virginia, LSU, Florida International, Arkansas
5-foot-9 | 153 |Miami Booker T. Washington
Buzz: At safety, Johnson is a very hard-hitting and fast-reacting force. He patrols the midfield very well and has quickness to converge on the ball.
6-foot-2 | 220 | First Coast
Buzz: Lyons is making a move to linebacker from safety - where he used his 4.5 speed in coverage and to close on the ball. Good instincts to read run or pass and coverage skills.
6-foot-2 | 210 | University School
Buzz: One of the keys to the Suns' defensive unit that totally dominated almost every opponent in Florida last year. Moore reads the QB/RB very well and is rarely out of position.
Schools in the mix: Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Texas A&M, Mississippi State
