Week Eight has a distinctive West Coast feel to it.

Dare we say our analysts and publishers are California dreaming?

NorCalPreps.com writer Michael Benton will be on the sidelines as Folsom takes on Sheldon, while fellow writer will be taking in one of the best games in the entire West region as No. 48 Del Oro takes on Nevada Union.

The "Dave duo" of Dave Rogahn and Dave Keefer of CaliforniaPreps.com already spent Thursday night watching Burroughs at Glendale. They'll spend Friday night in Valencia watching crosstown rivals Valencia High and West Ranch do battle.

And Rivals.com west analyst Adam Gorney will be hanging out in SoCal, checking out Los Angeles Cathedral and Gardena Serra.

But the action isn't all in California. There are great games all across the nation this weekend.

Here's a look at Where We'll Be in Week Eight:

Rankings as of 10/10
No. 15 Daphne (Ala.) High at Fairhope (Ala.) High
Rivals.com: Keith Niebuhr, Southeast Analyst (@KeithRIVALS)
Thursday: This game will feature no fewer than a dozen FBS prospects, starting with Auburn running back commit T.J. Yeldon of Daphne, a member of the Rivals100. Teammate Ryan Anderson, an outside linebacker, has pledged to Alabama. Daphne has scored 40-plus points in six of its previous seven games. Fairhope (6-1) also boasts a powerful offense, and two of the region's better linemen in Robert Leff and center Kyron Samuels.
No. 37 Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast vs. Yulee (Fla.) High
Rivals.com: Chris Nee, Florida Analyst (@RivalsCNee)
Friday: Yulee is led by a pair of SEC commitments - junior running back Derrick Henry, an early Georgia commitment, and senior tight end Kelvin Rainey, who has pledged to South Carolina. They will be facing a stiff challenge against a loaded First Coast defense led by the talented linebacker trio of seniors Joseph Jackson and Reggie Northrup as well as junior Daniel McMillian. On offense, the Buccaneers are led by Alabama commitment Chris Black.
No. 48 Loomis (Calif.) Del Oro at Grass Valley (Calif.) Nevada Union
NorCalPreps.com: Douglas Benton (@NorCalPreps)
Friday: Another week brings another marquee match-up in the Sierra Foothill League as nationally-ranked Del Oro travels to take on Nevada Union in the NorCalPreps.com Game of the Week. The Golden Eagles are paced by Nick O'Sullivan and Brandon Monroe in the running game behind a strong offensive line. Linebackers Alex Bertrando and Tanner Huber lead a physical defense. Nevada Union has losses to Elk Grove and Granite Bay, but is still a dangerous team going forward. Gabe Humphers is a versatile playmaker and linebacker Tanner Vallejo is a player to watch out of the 2013 class.
No. 54 Oxford (Miss.) Lafayette vs. New Albany (Miss.) High
Rivals.com: Steven Willis, AMP Videographer
Friday: Lafayette boasts three-star quarterback Jeremy Liggins, who holds offers from in-state programs Ole Miss and Mississippi State as well as eight other SEC schools.
No. 74 Rochester (N.Y.) Aquinas Institute at Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep
Rivals.com: Greg Ladky, AMP Videographer (@GregLadky)
Friday: Notre Dame commit and U.S. Army All-American Jarron Jones leads 6-0 Aquinas against talented 2013 quarterback Damion Terry.
No. 98 Wichita (Kan.) Heights vs. Wichita (Kan.) East
HovPenSports.com: Bob Hovey (@hovpen)
Thursday: GWAL Thursday night game of the week featuring the top team in Kansas at the moment with top prospect Jimmy Washington in the defensive backfield.

Delaware, Maryland, N. Carolina, New England, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, S. Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia
Walkersville (Md.) High at Frederick (Md.) Linganore
MDHigh.com: Reggie Turner
Friday: A matchup between a surprising undefeated Walkersville squad taking on perennial power Linganore and Maryland commit Joe Riddle.
Annapolis (Md.) Annapolis Christian at Brooklandville (Md.) St. Paul's
MDHigh.com: Dave Lomonico
Friday: A Division-I laden Annapolis Christian squad with three-star ATH Josh McPhearson goes up against a rising MIAA B-Conference power in St. Paul's.
Raleigh (N.C.) Leesville Road at Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook
NCPreps.com: Josh McKinnon (@JoshMcKinnon)
Friday: The game features four-star running back Keith Marshall of Millbrook and Class of 2014 recruit ATH Braxton Berrios of Leesville Road.
Beaver Falls (Pa.) Blackhawk at McKees Rocks (Pa.) Montour
PaPreps.com: Andrew Chiappazzi (@achiappazzi)
Friday: Expected to be a potential state title contender in Class AAA, Montour is now in danger of missing the playoffs. A win over Blackhawk, one game ahead of Montour in the standings, would help right the Spartans' ship.
Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt at Mechanicsburg (Pa.) High
PaPreps.com: Luke Campbell
Friday: McDevitt's had to rely on five-star defensive lineman Noah Spence and three-star linebacker Brock Dean (Maryland) the first half of the season before its rebuilt offense caught up. But with 80-plus points in the last few games, both units are finally clicking.
Robesonia (Pa.) Conrad Weiser at Reading (Pa.) High
PaPreps.com: Rebeka Rice
Friday: This is the last tune-up game for Conrad Weiser before it finishes with a sort of mini-round robin against fellow regional contenders Daniel Boone, Governor Mifflin and Exeter Township.
Bloomsburg (Pa.) High at Hughesville (Pa.) High
PaPreps.com: Tim Mack
Friday: Checking in on three-star quarterback prospect Blake Rankin. The Rutgers commit has had to help his team deal with terrible flooding, not to mention some tough opponents, as Bloomsburg is off to a 4-1 start.
Hawley (Pa.) Wallenpaupack at Scranton (Pa.) West Scranton
PaPreps.com: Mike Iorfino
Friday: Wallenpaupack is 5-1 after finishing 3-7 last year. Also checking in on West Scranton LB/RB Devaughn Chollette and Wallenpaupack TE Will McLaughlin.
Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha at Washington (D.C.) St. John's
MDHigh.com: Wayne Yarborough
Saturday: DeMatha and its four-star defensive ends Michael Moore and Brent Wilkerson square off with a young, talented St. John's squad featuring three-star QB Benjamin Onett, a Temple commit.

Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas
Friendswood (Texas) High at Manvel (Texas) High
Rivals.com: Brian Perroni, Southwest Analyst (@bperroni)
Thursday: Friendswood is a traditional power while Manvel, a relatively new school, has a chance to go a long way in this year's playoffs.
Dodge City (Kan.) High at Goddard (Kan.) High
HovPenSports.com: Bob Hovey (@hovpen)
Friday: First look at Dodge City junior running back Parker Davis who has shown promise so far in his first two seasons as a starter.
Weimar (Texas) High at East Bernard (Texas) High
Rivals.com: Brian Perroni, Southwest Analyst (@bperroni)
Friday: Two of the top juniors in Texas - offensive tackle Ja'Braylin Thomas and athlete Ty Slanina - face off in this small-school battle.
Houston (Texas) Bellaire at Houston (Texas) Chavez
Rivals.com: Brian Perroni, Southwest Analyst (@bperroni)
Saturday: Several top juniors are in action in this important district game.

Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin
Wilmington (Ill.) High at Coal City (Ill.) High
EdgyTim.com: Tim O'Halloran (@EDGYTIM)
Friday: Checking out a pair of small schools that both enter the game with identical 6-1 records.
Hudsonville (Mich.) High at Rockford (Mich.) High
TheWolverine.com: Tim Sullivan (@varsityblue)
Friday: Michigan offensive line commit Ben Braden has helped his Rockford Rams to a 6-1 record early in the season, and the three-star will face off against fellow OK-Red Conference Hudsonville.

Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee
Winter Park (Fla.) High at Orlando (Fla.) Evans
Rivals.com: Chris Nee, Florida Analyst (@RivalsCNee)
Thursday: Winter Park is led by junior quarterback Asiantii Woulard, who holds an early offer from USF, and senior wide receiver D'Vario Montgomery, who holds more than two dozen offers. Evans has a pair of talented junior wide receivers in Tony Stevens and Dominic Walker.

Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming
Monrovia (Calif.) High at La Canada (Calif.) High
Rivals.com: Adam Gorney, West Analyst (@adamgorney)
Thursday: Five-star defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy leads his Monrovia team on the road against a struggling La Canada squad. Rivals.com rates McCarthy as the second-best defensive tackle in the 2012 class.
Burbank (Calif.) Burroughs at Glendale (Calif.) High
CaliforniaPreps.com: Dave Rogahn, Dave Keefer
Thursday: Burroughs (2-3) is led by rushing star Zander Anding who had 277 yards rushing in a game earlier this year. Don't be surprised if he tops that against Glendale (1-4), a team that has given up 152 points in its last 3 games.
Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral at Gardena (Calif.) Serra
Rivals.com: Adam Gorney, West Analyst (@adamgorney)
Friday: UCLA commit Raymond Ford, linebacker Thomas Brown and many others lead a strong Serra squad. Standout quarterback Hayden Rettig is out for Cathedral with a season-ending knee injury, but 2013 wide receivers Da'Mari Scott and Cameron Akins are big-time threats.
Folsom (Calif.) High at Sacramento (Calif.) Sheldon
NorCalPreps.com: Michael Benton
Friday: Despite graduating much of its offensive production from a year ago, Folsom is clicking right along with Tanner Trosin at quarterback and J'Juan Muldrow showing his versatility running and catching the ball. Trosin is averaging 450 total yards of offense as the Bulldogs have won five in a row. The defense is working on improving with numerous new pieces, led by linebacker Alex Wood. Sheldon relies on two-way star Nate Iese, who impacts the game at tight end and defensive end. Also look for fellow defensive end Antonio Perez and running back Joshua Hadley. The Huskies have won two in a row following a blowout loss to Elk Grove.
Valencia (Calif.) West Ranch at Valencia (Calif.) High
CaliforniaPreps.com: Dave Rogahn, Dave Keefer
Friday: This is the Foothill League opener for these crosstown rivals. West Ranch (4-1) has gotten off to a good start this season and is led by RB Jeffrey Coprich. But Valencia (1-3-1) is always dangerous at home.
North Las Vegas (Nev.) Mojave at North Las Vegas (Nev.) Legacy
NevadaPrepReport.com: Will Levi
Friday: The Mojave Rattlers strong line will look to slow down running back D'Andre Hughes and his very talented Longhorn squad.
Mill Creek (Wash.) Jackson at Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline
UDubNation.com: Ron Newberry
Friday: Skyline boasts Max Browne, one of the country's top 2013 QB prospects.
