Julius Peppers is the comparison du jour here,

Jeffcoat's leaner frame and lateral movement is more

reminiscent of Rice, who also has an extensive background

in basketball. While not quite the specimen Rice was,

Jeffcoat's range and experience in a read-and-react defense

gives him similar versatility in multiple schemes. Jeffcoat

also proved to be very quick off the ball at USC's

Rising Stars Camp. However given his time spent on the

hardwood and his father's thicker build, there's a decent

chance this comparison becomes void should his

weight blow up as he matures.

is a versatile athlete that can play several positions,

which described Phillips at this point of his career as well.

Phillips went to Purdue to actually play tight end - a position

Powell could end up playing in college. However, once he

made the move to defensive end, Phillips started all four
years

at Purdue, amassing 34.5 sacks before being drafted by the

Chargers to play outside linebacker in the 34 defense.

This feature is meant to help illustrate the positive attributes associated with this year's pool of USC recruiting targets. Comparisons are made strictly from an on-field perspective. These evaluations represent generalities, and do not attempt to gauge a player's potential in college or beyond.
