Memphis QB camping at Miss. St.

Memphis, Tenn., quarterback Frederick Flenorl has already made one stop in the Magnolia State this week and will take a second this weekend.

The 6-foot-1, 167-pound signal caller camped at Ole Miss Sunday night and will make his way down the Mississippi State on Saturday to compete with his Whitehaven teammates in a 7-on-7 camp.

The Bulldogs are one of several schools recruiting Flenorl, who is still waiting on his first scholarship offer. Saturday will mark his first trip to the Starkville campus and he is looking forward to checking things out.

"I really like Mississippi State because it's not too far from Memphis," Flenorl said. "It's only a two and a half hour drive and I have a little bit of family that stays in Mississippi. It wouldn't be too far from home and I could come up and see my dad and see my family whenever I get ready. Hopefully whenever I go down there for an unofficial or official visit when school starts, I can take a look at their facilities and their academics and make sure everything is straightened out. If they offer me a scholarship, you never know where I might end up."

Like many other quarterback recruits, Flenorl is impressed with the resume Dan Mullen has made for developing talent under center such as Tim Tebow, Chris Leak and Alex Smith.

"I would feel real good playing for him because when a coach has a good track record like that you know he is doing good with the players," Flenorl said. "He is getting them the exposure that they need to succeed in life."

While Flenorl has never been to MSU, he has gotten wind of some of the latest upgrades to the campus like the $6.1 million video board and the $10 million Templeton Athletic Academic Center.
