Freshman Profile: Haulstead is ready and confident
Willie Haulstead knew in January that Florida State was the right choice for him. But he knew back when he was seven years old that playing football was going to be in his future.
"First time I played, I played linebacker and led the whole league in sacks and tackles," said Haulstead. "We were undefeated two years straight and went 19-0. As I got older, I played receiver."
Actually, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound athlete didn't line up at receiver until his sophomore year of high school. As a freshman he was a defensive superstar and many thought he would be a defensive back at the next level.
