Brundidge, Williams lead The Family 16's at Spiece
FT. WAYNE, Ind. - Over the years, one of the most successful teams on the summer basketball circuit has been Detroit-based, The Family.
This year's 17-and-under ballclub is a little bit down compared to previous years when players like Kalin Lucas, Manny Harris, Durrell Summers, and Paul Williams where running with The Family. But the future looks pretty good for the The Family, whose 16-and-under team is loaded with talent.
Michigan State has done a nice job of signing some of The Family's top players over the years, the most recent of which is 2009 Michigan Mr. Basketball Award winner Derrick Nix. Now, the Spartans have their eyes on the next group of stars from the Family, including the talented inside-out combination of 2011 Detroit Country Day center Amir Williams and 2011 Southfield star Carlton Brundidge
