Robinson, classmates taking in Spring Game

In addition to the alumni-game participants, former coaches and players, recruits and fans, U-M's incoming freshmen are attending today's Spring Game. Four-star quarterback Denard Robinson is taking it all in, and is impressed …

"The fans have me speechless," said Robinson. "I thought it was crazy and I think it will get crazier when the season starts."

There are no official numbers yet, but estimates place 30,000 fans at The Big House. Robinson was not the lone incoming rookie to become overwhelmed with the response. Four-star cornerback Justin Turner, three-star running back Teric Jones, three-star safety Isaiah Bell, two-star placekicker Brendan Gibbons and four-star offensive lineman Michael Schofield are in attendance.

Fellow quarterback Tate Foricer has already enrolled and has a head start on Robinson the Deerfield Beach, Fla., speedster isn't concerned.

"I love competition so I really don't pay attention to who's up here already," he said. "I just worry about when I get up here, how I perform.

"I'm learning … everyday I try to learn more stuff. [Quarterbacks coach]Rod Smith comes down to Florida. We sit down and go over the plays, go over the signals and stuff. Anything to get better. I should learn pretty fast when I come here."

Robinson was introduced to Forcier for the first time today. The two classmates had yet to talk but he doesn't expect an acrimonious relationship.

Robinson also had some news about his success on the track. The 100-meter dash specialist has recorded a 10.44 this year and a reported (but unconfirmed) 10.28.

"That's a warm-up for football but I'll probably be running track up there too. I don't know yet," he said.
