Updated: Figaro opts to join the Green Wave

With only two spaces left available in Tulane's 2009 recruiting class, the Green Wave hosted their final official visitors over the weekend.

One of those was wide receiver Devin Figaro, who is playing at Hargrave Military Acdemy, a prep school in Virginia.

Figaro is originally from Lafayette and was excited to venture back to Louisiana to check out the Green Wave.

"It was nice. I really liked it," the three-star receiver said. "I didn't know what to expect. I just knew it was a good educational school, but when we got there and toured the campus and stuff, I liked what I saw."

The weekend gave Figaro a chance to firm a stronger bond with the Tulane coaches, but it was his parents he was most excited to see. They made the trip to the Crescent City to tour the campus with their son.

"I got to see my mom and dad, so that was real nice," Figaro said. "My dad came late, but my mom loved it. She didn't see anything different than what she had heard. She said she found out a lot of information."

Figaro was hosted by fellow Lafayette native Kasey Stelly and spent substantial time with Tulane coach Bob Toledo.

"I didn't have a problem getting along with anyone down there," the receiver said. "I liked the coaches. Coach Toledo was cool. He just said they were looking for somebody to come in - somebody with some speed and size so they can have a big man that can make plays. He wants somebody that can make nothing into something and be a good route runner. He needs somebody that can come in and contribute right away."

And with trips to UAB and Tulane behind him, a decision is likely expected on Monday.

"I told Coach Toledo I would call him Monday and tell him whether I was going to commit or not," Figaro said.

And when asked whether the Green Wave was in good position for his signature, Figaro offered the following: "Yes sir."
