Sooner Commit is Preparing for Serious Work
Tom Wort came into his senior season expecting a very short transition between his the end of his New Braunfels, Texas season and starting to find his way to Norman, Okla. to start his career as a Sooner. Things haven't turned out for the Unicorns quite as he hoped but there is some silver-lining in the plans for Oklahoma.
While it may be good news for Sooner fans, and coaches, it's going to mean a lot more work for Wort himself.
"Once the season is over I'll be pretty much just getting ready for winter workouts, that's what I'm trying to get ready for," Wort explained. "I'm going to do as much running and lifting as I can.
"I'm not expecting to be ready for it, but I want to be in good as shape as I can. I'm really looking forward to what he can do with the dining hall and nutrition as well to help me reach my potential."
So what's gone so wrong this season?
"I think our defense, we've been playing really good football. We've scored five touchdowns and given up eight touchdowns. We've had a lot of mistakes and turnovers, and injuries on offense," he said. "We've been competitive in every game, we played Madison tough and they are going for a district title, we lost to them by three points.
"We lost to Roosevelt, we had defensive touchdowns, but just never really got anything going on offense."
