AU commit has great trip to Plains
Odenville (Ala.) St. Clair county defensive end Donald Ford has made numerous trips to Auburn but nothing could compare to last Saturday's visit for the Auburn-LSU game.
From start to finish, the Auburn commitment had a great time.
"The Tiger Walk ... that made me crunk. There were so many people there, I couldn't see," Ford said. "I loved the atmosphere. Even when Auburn was losing, the crowd was still up. I know that helps the players.
"Overall, it was very fun. That was the best visit I've been on."
Ford's mom joined him on the unofficial visit.
"She was all over the place," Ford said. "She loved it."
Ford, who projects as a weakside d-end at Auburn, paid close attention to AU's defense during the game.
"Auburn's defense was awesome," he said. "The defensive line was tight. But I think I can help them more on the edge with my speed. I think they need a little bit of Quentin Groves on the edge."
Ford had a Groves-type game the night before, racking up five sacks in a 26-17 win over Hokes Bluff. He was almost ready to his future teammates on the field against LSU.
