UGA offers Rivals100 DL, but is it too late?
The University of Georgia added their name to the long offer list of one of the top defensive linemen in the country. Sam Montgomery talked to the Dawgs recently and they let him know that he was now a target of theirs in 2009.
"Georgia had not really been recruiting me too much, so when they offered me, it was a surprise," said Montgomery. "Coach [Jon] Fabris called me last week and he asked me if I was interested in them, I said yes, and he told me that Georgia wanted to offer me a scholarship."
Over three dozen schools have already offered Montgomery, so is the offer from UGA too late?
"No sir, everybody is still equal and everybody still has a chance. The offer was not too late at all. They had been recruiting me a little bit and sending me some letters, but I don't look at them any different than anyone else. I am interested in them and I am going to start looking on the internet to find out more about them."
The number three rated weakside defensive end in the country watched the Bulldogs on T.V. this past weekend.
"I don't know much about Georgia really other than they are the Georgia Bulldogs," admitted Montgomery. "I have not been there before and I don't really know their coaches, but I did watch them against South Carolina."
