Down the Stretch

The Missouri Tigers are headed down the home stretch of fall camp--or at least the portion that the media is allowed to watch. With game day just 11 days away, the Tigers held a two-hour plus workout in shoulder pads on shorts on Tuesday morning. PowerMizzou.com has the report:

*Castine Bridges was back in a red jersey. Bridges missed a couple of workouts last week with a sore IT band, which runs from the hip to the knee. Missouri officials said holding Bridges out was simply precautionary. The soreness hasn't seemed to effect him in practice in the last week.

*Got an update on the eligibility situation with Rolandis Woodland,Aldon Smith and Drew Temple. With luck, we should have some news before camp closes.

"We're having more problems this year. I think everybody in the country's having more problems. They moved their offices, I think, from Iowa to Indianapolis and they changed the name of it to the Eligibility Center," Gary Pinkel said. "We think we have real good cases with all three. I'm very confident--I shouldn't say this, but I'd like to think it will come out right. If I felt like one was a real long shot, I'd tell you, but I don't. I think all three of them have a good chance. We thought yesterday for sure we would hear something. We should know for sure by today."

I will make sure to keep you updated.

*Pat Ivey spent a lot of time talking about some Missouri seniors with NFL scouts from the Dolphins, Vikings, Packers, Patriots, Browns and Titans.

*Play of the Day: During 11-on-11, the Tigers were short a middle linebacker. With players screaming, "We need a MIKE," Sean Weatherspoon sprinted out on the field to play with the fourth-team defense. With a pass headed over the middle to Caleb Medley, Spoon's eyes lit up. He launched himself at the walk-on tight end and leveled Medley with his shoulder. Teammates were cracking up at the all-Big 12 backer playing with the scout team defense.

The Tigers will practice again at 7:15 Wednesday morning.
