Thursday morning practice report

The Missouri Tigers are past the halfway point in fall camp. Mizzou held another workout on Thursday morning. The practice started outside, but rain forced it indoors midway through. Here is all the news from the practice field:

*I did not notice Elvis Fisher all day really. That's actually a compliment. If he would have been getting beaten consistently, I'd have noticed him. The fact that I didn't tells me he must have done a pretty solid job.

*Play of the Day: Despite looking like he may have rolled an ankle earlier in practice, Jeremy Maclin seemed unaffected. He took a swing pass from Daniel and absolutely ran away from the entire Missouri defense. Maclin ended up with what would have been an 80-yard touchdown completely untouched. He has a gear that no player I've ever seen at Missouri has had. But you knew that.

*Player of the Day: I have to again go with Chase Patton. He threw an absolutely perfect pass to Gahn McGaffie for about a 35-yard gain against great coverage by Kevin Rutland. Coming into camp, I was unsure if Patton was good enough to be the backup to Daniel. I'm not saying the offense wouldn't miss a beat, but Patton has, in my opinion, had a very, very good couple of weeks.

Missouri returns to the practice field at 7:15 on Friday morning.
