Sims liked what he saw in Athens
A 2010 quarterback getting a lot of publicity early on is Phillip Sims. The signal caller out of Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith has a number of schools interested in him and offers could be on there way this fall.
"I have not picked up any official offers yet, but I am waiting for September 1," said Sims. "That is when schools can offer me and a few of them are expected to offer me around that time."
At least three SEC schools have Sims thinking an offer will be coming his way early this fall.
"I have talked to Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee about the offer and I think all will offer me soon. Some other schools have told me the same thing, so I am excited about September 1."
The 6-foot-1, 200 pound quarterback has taken a number of visits in recent months, but he now plans to get focused on his junior year.
"Yeah, I am done with visits for the summer. I have been to Clemson, Georgia, Maryland, West Virginia, and North Carolina, so I am just going to chill out and get ready for the season now."
His visit to Athens is one still on his mind.
"Georgia really blew me away down there," he admitted. "I went there during my spring break, so I got to see them go through practice and that was great. They have a great campus, great coaches, great players, and it is just a great school."
