Cotton off to good start at Elite 11

Surrounded by four- and five-star prospects from around the country, nobody would fault quarterback Raymond Cotton if he showed a few butterflies on the first day of the 2008 EA Sports Elite 11.

But if the Auburn commitment was feeling nervous Monday, he certainly didn't show it on the field according to Elite 11 coach Tee Martin.

"Coming in with all those other big names, he's fitting right in with them and making good friends," said Martin. "He's confident and hasn't shown any signs that he shouldn't be there. He's taking on the challenge, competing and doing a great job.

"He's very confident. He's asking questions. He's very attentive."

Martin knows what it takes to be a successful SEC quarterback, leading Tennessee to the 1998 National Championship. Martin said Cotton really excelled when they ran drills against the defense that required him and the other 11 quarterbacks to make decisions in the pocket.
