Michigan sparking interest at Calhoun County

The state of South Carolina again has a bumper crop of recruits in the class of 2009. St. Matthews Calhoun County High is one of the top talent producers in the state this year with four-star wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey and safety David Sims attracting attention from schools across the country.

Michigan assistant coach Tony Gibson was one of the college coaches who has been through Calhoun County this spring to see both Sims and Jeffrey. The school's head coach, Walter Wilson, detailed how it was that Michigan found out about his players.
