Caper makes it official
Last week SpartanMag.com broke news that Rivals 100 and 4-star RB Larry Caper would be committing to Michigan State. Today that commitment became official as Caper made the trip up to East Lansing to meet with Spartan Head Coach Mark Dantonio.
Spartanmag.com caught up with the 5-foot-10, 210-pound Caper earlier tonight and he gave us some details about his commitment.
"I just got back from Michigan State. I went up after school today and was able to meet with Coach Dantonio," he said.
How did the meeting go?
"It went real well," Caper said. "He was excited that I had decided to become a Spartan. Everyone had a smile on their faces, all the coaches."
What did you and Coach Dantonio talk about.
"We talked about my four years at Michigan State and the opportunity I will have to make an impact on the program."
Now that you're a Spartan are you planning on working hard to help bring more talent to the class of 2009 with you?
Yes, definitely. I was able to speak with Chris Norman of Detroit Renaissance earlier today and we were talking about bringing in a great class to Michigan State.
The Spartans already have what most believe will be the top running back class in the nation for the class of 2009. Schools like USC, Texas and Florida can go out and sign as many running backs as they want, the homegrown duo of Caper and Edwin Baker are as good as it gets.
Caper will be at the Rivals.com 5-Star Junior Day this weekend. Rivals .com will have AMP interviews with Caper and SpartanMag.com will have much more on the latest impressive addition to the Michigan State Class of 2009.
Look for new highlight vide to be uploaded soon after the event as well.
