Pachall talks junior day

When TCU held their junior day event in Ft. Worth last weekend, many of the top players in Texas were in attendance. One of the biggest stars may have been Brownwood's own, Casey Pachall. The talented Texas gunslinger toured the campus along with the other prospects there and came away impressed with what he saw.

"I really liked it a lot" said Pachall. "I liked the atmosphere the most, they just really made me feel like part of the family and it was a great feeling. I loved the campus too, it was very nice."

With a new found strategy of targeting their top players at each position and going full bore after them early, the Frogs have positioned themselves nicely with some of the most talented players in the state. Count Pachall as one of the prospects that likes what the Frogs have to offer on and off of the field.

"I won't base my final decision on coaches or anything like that. It will be all about the school, the tradition of the school and if I would feel comfortable there. I definitely felt comfortable at TCU. I was talking to Coach Fuente and I told him that I wanted to major in Business and he got real excited. He told me about TCU's business program and it got me pumped. I would be at a good place to come in, play in a great system and get a great education at the same time. That really got me interested."

Another thing that young quarterbacks might find attractive about the Frogs is their recent influx of talent and athleticism at the wide receiver position. With numerous young, talented pass catchers at his disposal, Pachall could do some serious damage on opposing defenses. TCU's plans to open up the playbook really caught the Brownwood playmaker's eye.

"They said they are going to more of a spread and that kind of excites me. I play in that type of system now so I could jump right into the offense rather easily. I would understand the schemes and pick up on everything I'm doing a lot better than a different offense."

With an offer list that is sure to grow but already includes schools such as TCU, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Arizona, Baylor and Houston, Pachall knows that the process can and will get crazy. So when might we expect to hear a decision from the young man on where he will spend the next few years of his life?

"I'll definitely make a decision by the end of April or the beginning of May. I want to focus on my high school team and teammates as soon as possible. I want to work on getting better in all areas of my game."

With the lighting quick way in which the 09' class has started to take shape, could Pachall be the next player to say yes to what the Frogs have to offer? Stay tuned to PurpleMenace.Com to find out where this talented prospect will take his services.
