TCU among Pachall's favorites

Brownwood, Texas quarterback Casey Pachall is the next big thing to come out of the recruiting hotbed that has produced numerous division-1 athletes in the last decade or so.

Standing at 6-foot-4, 182-pounds, Pachall has been the starter for the Coach Freeman and the Lions since his sophomore year and has passed for 3,500 yards and ran for 1,000 more in the last two seasons, earning him district honors both years.

Teams love his arm strength and his ability to run the ball which earns him the right to be rated as a four-star in the early Rivals.com rankings. Among those teams who have already made a push for Pachall's services by extending early offers are Arizona, TCU, and Houston. Others such as Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, Louisville, Texas A&M, Iowa, and Oklahoma State are showing interest.

While it's still early, some teams have already caught the gunslinger's attention.

"Right now I'm kind of leaning toward teams like Oklahoma and TCU," he said. "And I'm leaning a little bit toward Iowa as well."

Last week Pachall went to Oklahoma's junior day and it appears that he is the Sooner's top priority at the position. However, Oklahoma isn't the only team chasing Pachall with him at the top.

"TCU offered about a week ago," he said. "They've told me so far I'm the only quarterback they've offered. Coach Fuente is recruiting me."

A change of offense has caught his attention as well to the Frogs.

"I really like the program," he said. "They're starting to do a zone read offense and that's similar to what we do down here at Brownwood. I don't know a lot about their school but I'm trying to get some more info."

Pachall plans to attend junior days at Texas A&M on the 16th and Texas Tech on March 1st. His scheduled visit to Texas on the 23rd will not be taking place.

"I was going to go to Texas on the 23rd but I've decided not to go," he said. "TCU's is on the 23rd so I'm trying to decide if I'm going to go there or not."
