Fortson talks AU commit, FSU visit

It's been a wild week for Columbus (Ga.) Carver wide receiver Jarmon Fortson. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Fortson returned from an official visit to Florida State Sunday and has been inundated with phone calls and visits from coaches over the last five days.

"It's just crazy and hectic right now," said Fortson. "I've been trying to get away from it for a while but it's kinda hard to do with all the coaches calling.

"It's very tough on me and I'm trying to stay focused in class and everything too."

Fortson committed to Auburn in September and visited the Tigers Jan. 11. But a strong late push by FSU has put the Seminoles in the mix with National Signing Day just five days away.

Fortson said he had a good visit to Tallahassee.

"I was just down there having fun," said Fortson. "I learned a lot about the school and talked to coach Bowden one-on-one and the offensive coaches. I looked at the offensive plays and they showed me how I would fit in the system

"I just had a great time."

Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville visited Fortson on Wednesday.

"He came to my basketball game," said Fortson. "He sat down with my mom in the stands. It went pretty well having him there to support me."

While Fortson remains committed to Auburn, he's still leaving the door open for a possible last-minute change of heart.
