Bruins land State POY

The Bruins landed their second surprise commit out of another surprise visitor when received the commitment former San Diego State quarterback Kevin Craft (6-5, 208) who played his JUCO ball at Mt. Sac.

"Yes, Kevin committed to UCLA last night," Kevin's father, Tom Craft said. "He had some pretty good options.

"Kevin pretty much eliminated Hawai'i, but (new Hawai'i head coach) Greg McMackin and Ron Lee came out and did a nice job representing Hawai'i, but he was originally recruited by June Jones," Craft said. "He had so many nice options and he was about to commit to SMU when UCLA came in late.

"Kevin was very impressed with UCLA," Craft said. "It came down to two pretty good situations.

Craft was the California Junior College Player of the Year after throwing for around 4,200 yards and 44 touchdowns.
