SoCal defensive lineman to visit Wazzu

Logan Harrell took his first official visit to Fresno State in mid-December. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive lineman from Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic High will take his second trip to Washington State the weekend of January 18th.

"I am really excited to get up there and see what they have to offer," Harrell said when asked about his upcoming trip to Pullman. "I have always been interested in Washington State, so it will be nice to get up there and get to see everything first hand."

Harrell left his earlier trip to Fresno State impressed with the Bulldogs' program.

"What I really liked about my visit to Fresno State was the interaction I had with the players," he recalled. "The coaches set up the recruits with a player host to take us out and give us a glimpse at what their life is like as a student-athlete there.

"Being around the players there, they really made us feel like we were a part of the team. It was a pretty neat experience. The players up there are a really tight knit group of guys.

"I really like the way Coach Pat Hill runs the program up there. I got a chance to watch them practice. They never slow down or take it easy during their practices. They are always going at it, head to head. I really liked it."

Are Washington State and Fresno State the main two colleges in Harrell's recruiting mix?

"Yeah, those are the two main schools on my radar," he said. "They are the two biggest schools that have offered me so far. But I am still looking around. Oregon has been talking to me for a long time now and Arizona State, as well."

Harrell earned all-league honors as a junior and senior.
