Garcia 'on the fence' after UA visit

One of Arizona's biggest needs in its 2008 recruiting class is JUCO offensive line help, and the Wildcats brought in three potential candidates for official visits this weekend, two of them being Cerritos (Calif.) Community College teammates Mike Diaz and Phillip Garcia.

During his time in Tucson, Diaz committed to Arizona. Garcia entered his visit committed to Kansas State, but things appear to be complicated now that he's returned from his trip.

Despite Garcia's commitment to the Big 12 program, he was interested in Arizona and wanted to give the UA a fair chance.

"I knew I was serious about Arizona," Garcia said. "I went down there because I was going to give them a serious shot."

Garcia's official visit began on Thursday night, when the Wildcats defeated 2nd ranked Oregon on national television. The game set the stage for the rest of the trip.

"It went good; it went real good," Garcia said of the visit. "It's a good program and they have a brand new offense. They should be contenders; they just beat the #2 team in the country."

There doesn't seem to be one way to describe the UA victory, and when asked what he thought of the game, Garcia raved about the 34-24 Arizona win.
