State of Arizona has plenty to cheer about

Feel the vibe?

That positive energy flow permeating every corner of Arizona is in the form of college football.

Hard to believe, but our state has cornered the Pac-10 market on warm and fuzzy. The Wildcats are charmed after putting it together last week against Washington State and ASU is still undefeated and ranked 18th.

Every conference precinct besides ours has trouble aplenty. Just take a gander at last Saturday's developments:

  • USC: The Trojans slipped from 1 to 2 in the Associated Press media poll after playing their worst game in years in beating Washington 27-24 on the road. A pair of missed field goals, a blocked punt and 16 penalties showed that even Troy is human.

    USC fans have to be wringing their hands over giving up their top spot to LSU in the AP poll, but the Trojans are still ranked first in the USA Today coaches poll and the Harris Poll.
