Cal in Thompson's Top 3

At 6-foot-5, 280-pounds, Los Angeles (Calif.) El Camino CC defensive tackle Justin Thompson is arguably the most sought after JC-player in the country in the 2008 class. Though his close friend and teammate Simi Kuli is ranked slightly higher, Thompson's ability to shut-down the running game and still put on an effective pass rush makes him worthy of 5-stars.

After his sophomore highlight film comes out, Thompson should be on the verge of 5-stars too. He's already right on the edge, ranked as the No. 5 JC prospect in the country. "JT" is a physical presence with size and speed - impressive 4.9 forty-speed to be exact - and gives opposing linemen and quarterbacks a lot to think about on the field.

Even after El Camino's stunning loss to Bakersfield C.C. last week on the final play of the game, which dropped the Warriors from their No. 1 national JC ranking, Thompson and his teammates put a thumping on rising JC-quarterback Jacob Bower.
