Arizona prospects react to Cal win
One of the top performances by any potential 2008 Cal recruit this past week took place on national television, as Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton high school took on Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep in a rematch of the 2005 Arizona State Football Title game. Although he didn't get a chance to play in the Huskies 15-14 defeat back in 2005, Hamilton's Covaughn DeBoskie made his presence known this past Thursday as the Huskies overwhelmed the Broncos, 29-6.
Due to the incredible heat this time of the year in Phoenix, conditioning is always a major factor for any athlete. A number of players - including DeBoskie - dealt with cramping throughout the contest. That situation somewhat limited his carries, but the No. 5 ranked all-purpose back in the country still managed to put on some moves, rolling for over 100 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries. Most of his damage was done in the first-half, as he had only one touch in the second-half. Due to Hamilton's incredible offensive talent, which includes the No. 1 ranked high school prospect in Arizona, wide receiver Gerell Robinson, DeBoskie will likely be limited to 15 touches per game.
