VU commit Bryant gearing up for senior season

Michael Bryant has already accomplished a lot this year. Shortly before the 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive lineman finished his junior year of classes at Lavergne (Tenn.), he began to see an increased amount of attention from college football coaches across the southeast.

One program, Vanderbilt, gave a great deal of interest to the Rutherford County standout. The Commodore coaches offered the 2006 all-region selection a full scholarship, and Bryant quickly became Vanderbilt's third verbal commitment of the 2008 recruiting period.

With his decision out of the way before he was even done with his third year of school, Bryant's main focus shifted to improving himself for his senior year and helping the Wolverines climb the ranks in the ultra-competitive Region 4-5A.

As the Wolverines' season opener approaches this Friday, Bryant spoke to about how this month's preseason has progressed in preparation for what Lavergne hopes will be a solid year.
