Berry making a name for himself

MORGANTOWN-- First impressions are hard to shake. Just ask West Virginia defensive end Scooter Berry, who throughout his first 18 months at WVU was perceived as little more than the other half of a package deal that made Berry's half-brother, prep legend Jason Gwaltney, a Mountaineer.

"It was like that in high school, too," Berry says of his time at North Babylon High School in Long Island, New York. "I played my role. If being (Jason's brother) was what I had to do, I was willing to go along with it. All I care about is reaching my goals. I know I'm my own person; I don't need other people to remind me of that."
