Zander Fabbri commits to Arizona

Arizona has landed its 12 commitment of the 2008 recruiting class after Zander Fabbri called the UA coaches, offering his verbal. Fabbri, 6-foot-1 and 245 pounds from Bakersfield (Calif.) Centennial, was close to committing after an unofficial visit last week, but finally closed the deal.

"My mind was made up when I visited there last week," Fabbri told GOAZCATS.com after committing.

Fabbri is a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, ranked as the 23rd best inside linebacker in the country, as well as 55th on the California Top 100.

Many schools saw Fabbri as a fullback - he had 833 yards and 17 touchdowns last season rushing - but the UA likes him at linebacker, and he chose the Wildcats over offers from Colorado State and San Diego State, as well as interest from Arizona State, USC, UCLA, Washington and Washington State.
