Bruins perform well at NIKE

There was several future Bruins competing at the NIKE 7-on-7 tournament on a hot Friday afternoon staged at Long Beach Veteran Stadium. Bruin commits quarterback Nick Crissman from Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison, linebacker Donovan Carter, running back Milton Knox both from Lake Balboa (Calif.) Birmingham, linebacker Patrick Larimore and safety/running back E.J. Woods from Encino (Calif.) Crespi all were in attendance.

Encino (Calif.) Crespi quarterback Kevin Prince, and underclass quarterback Matt Barkley from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei was also on hand to add to the talent on hand.

Crissman was a victim of several dropped passes on the day but it was apparent he has the goods for D-I success. There was one play where he looked off the defensive back and threw a strike for a touchdown.

What was impressive about Crissman besides the normal good stuff like his competitive nature and strong arm was though his receivers were dropping passes he never hung his head or started finger pointing. He showed what all good quarterbacks do and that was leadership and poise.

The more you find out about Crissman, the more you like.
