Irish show interest in top Kansas athlete

Notre Dame doesn't venture into Kansas very often in search of top talent.

But this year that plains state has turned into a meeting point for college coaches, and they're coming to Wichita to see more than future five-star prospect Arthur Brown. Corwin Brown paid a visit to the standout linebacker at East High School recently and also traveled across town to visit athlete Chris Harper at Northwest High School.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect, who already holds offers from most of the Big 12, could develop at almost any position at the next level. Northwest head coach Weston Schartz said Notre Dame sees Harper as a future wide receiver should the Irish decide to offer. Harper plays both receiver and quarterback in Schartz's offense.
