Competition brings out Alexander's best

A.J. Alexander wanted to put his best forward last weekend when he traveled to a combine in Pittsburgh, Pa. The 5-foot-10, 163-pound athlete from Altoona, Pa., is already looking forward to locking down a spot atop the recruiting charts.

"I did alright," he said. "I think I did good in the drills and caught all my balls. I hope to get my fifth star!"

Alexander said one of the best parts of the combine was the chance to meet some of the top players he's heard about.

"I saw a lot of great players and got to spend some time with them, so it was cool," he said. "It was guys like R.J. Dill, Cam Saddler, Chris Henderson and Shariff Blake."
