McDonald calls ND the perfect fit

When Anthony McDonald received a scholarship offer from Notre Dame nearly two months ago, the linebacker from Sherman Oaks, Calif., knew it was just a matter of time before he committed to the Irish. On Wednesday, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker began a weekend unofficial visit to South Bend and after a quick look around campus he verbally pledged his commitment to head coach Charlie Weis.

With his commitment out of the way, McDonald was now in a position to prepare for his future in the blue and gold. Thursday he spent time watching film with Brown.

McDonald is Notre Dame's seventh verbal commitment in the Class of 2008 and the second linebacker.
