Coples is a two-sport star

Defensive end Quinton Coples from Kinston (N.C.) High may be the next to continue the line of tall, athletic defensive ends from the state of North Carolina. First it was Julius Peppers, a Bailey-native who starred at UNC and now the Carolina Panthers. Then it was Mario Williams from Richland who set sack records at NC State before becoming the first overall draft pick in 2006.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Coples registered 63 tackles and seven sacks as a junior at Kinston. In addition to being a Junior All-American, Coples was named to the Rivals100 to watch list and the Rivals250 to watch list for the Class of 2008. And already he has five schools he is looking at strongly.
