Rookie Report: Kirk DeCremer

MADISON, Wis. - After a recent bowl practice, caught up with one of the future pieces of the Badgers' defensive line, Kirk DeCremer. As a true freshman this season, DeCremer, who played prep football at nearby Verona High School, was redshirted. But he looks to have a bright future in Cardinal and White, as head coach Bret Bielema and even defensive line coach Randall McCray have made strong comments about his development over the season. In this latest edition of ROOKIE REPORT, DeCremer talks about his future as a defensive end, battling All-American left tackle Joe Thomas and much more.

Have you enjoyed having these extra practices, bowl practices, to give you a jumpstart on spring ball and heading into next fall?

KD: "I really like it a lot. It gives me an opportunity to work more with Coach McCray now, because I've been on scout team the entire time so far in helping those guys out. It's been really nice because I'm getting to work like one-on-one and I get a lot of one-on-one coaching with him."

What is maybe some of the feedback you've received from Coach McCray? What have you done well?

KD: "He's really working with me on my pass rush stuff right now. And he wants me to work on my hands. And he says that I'm doing a good job with my intensity and everything, but I just got to keep refining my skills and just working on my fundamentals."
