Dawgs embarrassed at home by Cardinal

Stanford entered Husky Stadium as the worst team with the worst run defense in the nation. Of 119 schools, the Cardinal ranked 119th giving up 239.1 yards per contest. For a Washington football team that had been struggling to get its running game going since early in the season, this was going to be a welcome sight.

Instead, neither squad was able to move the chains on the ground with any kind of consistency and the Huskies saw its losing streak stretch to six games as Stanford won 20-3.

"The results of the day are difficult to deal with," coach Tyrone Willingham said, "We did not play a good football game and did not execute what we needed to do to be successful."
