Q&A: Connor previews the Badgers
Reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Dan Connor sat down to with reporters after Coach Joe Paterno's press conference this afternoon.
Connor earned the honor, his second of the season, by recording 12 tackles (10 solo) and making a big interception, which halted a Purdue drive at the Penn State 17-yard line.
How much pride do you guys take in the shutout?
Dan Connor: That's what we go for every game, that's always our goal. To get a chance to do that against against a high-powered offense like that is something to be proud of too. We watched the film and I think we looked good as a defense. We looked like we really gelled and and were confident.
How much have guys talked about Penn State's prospective bowl picture?
DC: It's still early, we talked about it because we were bowl eligble with the win, but, as far a specifically where we're going to go, it's not really on the agenda yet. We're taking it week by week.
What kind of challenges does the Wisconsin offense present?
DC: It's real different from Purdue's (offensive gameplan). They're, across the offensive line, 6-7, 320 right across. Real big tailback, its a power running game. (It's) old school Big Ten, they're going to run powers and whams right at you. It's a different game from Purdue and we've got to buckle the chin strap and get ready to hit.
