Five star looking to set trips

There is a reason that five-star defensive end/running back Everson Griffen (6-4, 264, 4.46) from Avondale (Ariz.) Agua Fria is being called the "Super Freak". Griffen is having an outstanding senior season on both sides of the ball while helping his team to a perfect 4-0 start.

From his defensive end position the "Super Freak" already has eight and half sacks to his credit in only four games. Add in his 35 tackles and you can why Griffen is considered the nation's No. 1 strongside defensive end prospect for the class of 2007.

Griffen is also getting the job done from his running back position. He has rushed for 291 yards on 35 carries and seven touchdowns while averaging 8.3 yards per carry.

Griffen has over 40 offers on the table. He was visit set and is in the process of setting another official visit.

"The only visit I have set at this time is for USC when they play Notre Dame in November," Griffen said. "I'm going to set a visit with UCLA."

"I have been looking at both USC and UCLA for awhile," Griffen said. "I went to UCLA's spring game and I've been to USC for a camp."

"I'm also thinking about visiting Notre Dame."
