Buckeyes aware of junior McCarthy

While working on their 2007 recruiting class, the Ohio State staff also has an eye towards their class of 2008. One Ohio junior coach Jim Tressel is aware of hails from Tressel's former home, Youngstown.

Two years ago the Buckeyes offered a scholarship to Kyle McCarthy. McCarthy narrowed things down to Ohio State and Notre Dame before selecting the Fighting Irish.

Kyle McCarthy's younger brother Daniel McCarthy will be one of the top 2008 prospects in the state of Ohio.

The 6-foot-2 and 190-pound Daniel McCarthy was a varsity starter at strong safety his sophomore year and averaged seven tackles per game. McCarthy intercepted three passes.
