Position Battles: Lines of Scrimmage

Georgia head coach Mark Richt threw a major curveball at the beginning of practice today when, senior defensive tackle Dale Dixson appeared in a red offense jersey to work with the offense. Dixson made the move to fill in for the injured Zeb McKinzey at the split guard position. He may also receive the call as an emergency center, where he worked on the side with coach Richt on his technique and ball exchange.

Today's positional battles story turns the spotlight on the battle to the backup guard and center positions, plus the overall picture of the offensive line.


With the revelation of Dale Dixson crossing over from the defensive line to the second string split guard position a lot has changed in the last 24 hours.
